Thiago Alves vs. Tim Means set for UFC Fight Night in Washington DC

Brazilian veteran Thiago Alves will return to the Octagon in December.

He will return against Tim Means in a Welterweight contest, confirmed by the UFC on Thursday. The bout will take place at UFC on ESPN 7 on December 7 in Washington DC.

Alves (23-14, 15-11 in UFC) is coming off a a unanimous judges decision loss to Laureano Staropoli this past May. He is 2-5 in his last 7 with his only wins coming against Patrick Cote (who has since retired) and Max Griffin.

Means (28-11, 8-6 in UFC) is coming off a knockout loss to Niko Price in his latest outing (the first knockout defeat of his career) this past March. Of his eight career UFC fights, five have come by way of finish.

UFC on ESPN 7 takes place at the Capital One Arena in Washington DC on December 7 and will air live on ESPN.
