The Motown Phenom will be making his return to the Lightweight division.
After a brief stint at 170 pounds, former Lightweight ranked contender Kevin Lee will make the drop back down to 155 and will face fellow ranked Lightweight Gregor Gillespie at UFC 244 on November 2.
Gillespie (13-0, 6-0 in UFC) has been a wrecking ball since arriving in the UFC with a perfect 6-0 record, including three knockouts and two submission wins along the way. The former Edinboro University All-American is 13-0 overall and is considered a potential challenger to the lightweight title if he can keep this streak alive.
As for Lee, he will return to the lightweight division after a brief stop at welterweight where he suffered a loss to Rafael dos Anjos in his only fight at 170 pounds in the UFC.
Lee (17-5, 10-5 in UFC) has gone 1-3 over his past four fights after rattling off five wins in a row to earn an interim title shot back in 2017. He’s fallen on harder times lately with back-to-back losses to dos Anjos and Al Iaquinta, but Lee will attempt to return to his winning ways when he clashes with Gillespie in November.
UFC 244 takes place at the Madison Square Garden arena in New York on November 2 and will stream live on pay per view.
