UFC 242 will take place at the Arena, Yas Island in Abu Dhabi where the main event is for the Undisputed UFC Lightweight championship as current champion Khabib Nurmagomedov (27-0) 11-0 in UFC will take on interim champion Dustin Poirier (25-5-1) 17-4-1 in UFC in which will be the biggest Lightweight fight of the summer.
Making his UFC debut back in 2012 “The Eagle” has not lost one fight in his career and is riding an 11 fight win streak inside the octagon. With his superior grappling and takedowns we have not really seen the champion in any trouble since entering the octagon. With wins over Conor McGregor, Edson Barboza and Rafael Dos Anjos, Nurmagomedov will be looking to make it 28-0 as he takes out another champion.
His opponent made his UFC debut back in 2011. “The Diamond” has always shown impressive submission skills but the last couple of years we have seen his striking becoming much better. After an unsuccessful run at featherweight, Poirier went back to 155 in 2015 and has looked better than he ever before. With wins over Max Holloway(x2) Eddie Alvarez and Anthony Pettis, Poirier is looking for his biggest win yet and finally realize his dream of being Undisputed.
