Henry Cejudo vs. Marlon Moraes to fight for the vacant UFC Bantamweight championship at 238

Following the vacancy of the UFC Bantamweight title, the UFC has announced the next matchup that will determine the next champion at 135.

Announced Wednesday afternoon by the promotion, current UFC Flyweight champion Henry Cejudo will face off against No. 1 ranked Marlon Moraes for the vacant Bantamweight title. This matchup was made following the news of T.J. Dillashaw taking on a one-year suspension from United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) after testing positive for what has still yet to be reported.

Cejudo (14-2, 8-2 in UFC) most recently defended his UFC Flyweight title against the aforementioned Dillashaw at the beginning of the year by way of first-round TKO. Following his win over Dillashaw, Cejudo had campaigned for a shot Dillashaw’s Bantamweight belt in a rematch following what many believed to be a controversial finish.

Moraes (22-5-1, 4-1 in UFC) most recently solidified his spot as the top Bantamweight contender in line for the title after avenging his lone Octagon loss to top-five ranked Raphael Assuncao in February with a first-round TKO victory of his own. Moraes is currently on a four-fight winning streak that includes victories over John Dodson, Aljamain Sterling and Jimmie Rivera.

UFC 238 takes place United Center in Chicago, Illinois on June 8 and will air live on pay per view.
