UFC Lightweight Gilbert Burns is taking time away from the UFC for a grappling match up against Gleison Tibau at Titan FC on March 15th, at Xtreme Action Park in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The submission only match will be the first grappling combat match up under the Titan FC banner. The bout will consist with eight minute rounds and will have a “shootout” tie breaker if it should go into overtime. Burns regularly competes in grappling competitions and is three time jui-Jitsu World Champion.
Burns recently sat down with MMA Wreckage radio and discussed his relationship with Titan FC and his desire to compete in multiple grappling match ups under the Titan FC banner. He also talked about his journey with the UFC and who he’d like to face next in the cage.
Titan FC is set to take place on March 15th, airing on UFC Fight Pass. The grappling super fight will take place before co-main event of the night between flyweight champion Juan Puerta (16-6) defends his title in a rematch against Gustavo Balart (8-1), also on the card former UFC fighter Michael Graves (7-1-2) fights Jared Gooden (13-2) for an interim welterweight title in the co-headliner.
