Two former champions will clash in the main attraction when the Ultime Fighting Championship next touches down in Idaho.
Former UFC Heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos returns to action against former World Series of Fighting Heavyweight champion Blagoy Ivanov on July 14 at UFC Fight Night 133 in Boise, Idaho.
ESPN confirmed the bout Monday afternoon.
Dos Santos (18-5, 12-4 in UFC) has not competed since last competing for the UFC Heavyweight championship against Stipe Miocic back at UFC 211. Dos Santos lost the bout via TKO in the first round. Since then, dos Santos has nursed multiple injuries as well as a USADA infraction. The United States Anti Doping Agency popped dos Santos in August last year for a banned substance. USADA handed down a six-month suspension after announcing that dos Santos popped for a legitimately tainted supplement. Dos Santos gas gone 3-3 in his last six bouts, only one of which was by knockout.
Ivanov (16-1) will be making his UFC debut against the former Brazilian champion. Ivanov is a former WSOF and PFL Heavyweight champion. Ivanov won the WSOF Heavyweight title back in 2015. The Bulgarian brute defended the championship three times, which at the time was more title defenses for a Heavyweight champion of any major MMA promotion until Stipe Miocic tied it earlier this year.
UFC Fight Night 133 takes place at the CentruyLink Arena in Boise, Idaho on July 14 and will air live on Fox Sports 1.
