GLORY 52 Results: Simon Marcus quickly dispatches of Zach Wells with first round finish

After losing his GLORY Middleweight championship to Alex Pereira last October, it was expected that Canadian superstar Simon Marcus would be looking to return to the winners column quickly.

Quickly is correct as Marcus was a cannon right out of the gate to start the first round. Landing multiple switch kicks to the body early, Wells was looking to adjust to the Canadian’s initial form of attack. As Wells looked for an angle to garner entry, Marcus exploded with punches and was able to corner Wells to the post.

Despite the desire for defense, Wells could not halt the onslaught that was Marcus’ hooks to both the body and the head which called for the referee to halt the action not even two minutes into the first round.

After being declared the victor, Marcus had choice words for the champion Pereira:

“Pereira. I’m coming for you in your dreams, when you sleep, wherever you’re at Pereira I’m coming. Ain’t nothing going to stop me from reclaiming my title. I’m coming!”

Marcus improves to 48-4-2 overall and 7-3-1 inside the Glory Kickboxing ring.
