One of Bellator MMA’s most dangerous Welterweight contenders is no longer signed to the company.
Notorious for his knockout power and thrilling fights, Paul “Semtex” Daley has long been considered one of the most fearsome fighters on the Bellator roster and one of the best Welterweights not signed to the famed Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
In recent weeks, Daley had voiced his displeasure with the company, citing a lack of promotion after a stellar performance against former UFC veteran Lorenz Larkin in his last bout, as well as the inability to materialize a bout with fellow Welterweight star Michael “Venom” Page:

Initially, Daley had stated that he would compete for two more fights under the Bellator banner. On Thursday however, Paul Daley posted onto his social media citing that he had asked to be released. Not only that, Daley also stated that h would only be fighting for 18 more months before retiring from the sport of mixed martial arts.

Now aged 34, Paul Daley has competed in mma since 2003 and has compiled a 40-15-2 record along with 30 knockouts. Daley has competed with multiple organizations over his long career which include Cage Warriors, EliteXC, Strikeforce and even the UFC.
Bellator MMA has not officially announced the release of Paul Daley as of press time.
