After suffering a loss in his latest bout on United States soil, Manuwa will return home in his next bout.
Announced Wednesday evening on UFC Tonight, Jimi Manuwa will face Polish Light Heavyweight Jan Blachowicz in a rematch from a bout back in 2015 at UFC Fight Night 127 in London. Both men met back at UFC Fight Night 64, which ironically took place in Jan’s home country of Poland.
Manuwa (17-3, 6-3 in UFC) was the victor in their first match-up, winning the bout via unanimous judges decision, the only such victory in Jimi’s UFC career as all but that victory has coem by way of knockout. Manuwa most recently lost to number one contender Volkan Oezdemir back at UFC 214.
Blachowicz (21-7, 4-4 in UFC) has since gone 3-2 after his loss to Manuwa. The Polish contender has garnered victories over Igor Pakrajac, Ilir Latafi and Jared Cannonier. Of Blachowicz’ 21 career wins, 13 are by way of finish and eight by way of knockout.
UFC Fight Night 127 takes place at the O2 Arena in London, England on March 17. No main event has been announced for this card as of press time. The card thus far reads:
