The UFC’s return to Charlotte, North Carolina is set to showcase a fun Light Heavyweight scrap
Ovince St. Preux vs. Ilir Latifi has been officially announced for the UFC on Fox card which takes place in January of next year. Both fighters expressed interest in the bout over social media, and on Monday afternoon the UFC made the bout official.
St. Preux (22-10, 10-5 in UFC), has had a successful 2017. After defeating Marcos Rogerio de Lima via von flue choke back in the spring, OSP defeated former Middleweight title challenger Yushin Okami in the same manner. Not even a month later, St. Preux took a short notice bout against No.7 ranked Corey Anderson at UFC 217. OSP would win the bout with a head kick knockout securing his second Performance of the Night this year, and his fourth since joining the UFC.
Latifi (13-5, 6-3 in UFC) has only had one bout this year, a unanimous decision victory against Tyson Pedro back at UFC 215. Having gone 4-1 in his last five, with his only loss coming against Ryan Bader before he left the promotion, Latifi will be looking to climb the Light Heavyweight ladder with a win over his No. 6 ranked opponent.
UFC on Fox 27 will take place at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina on Jan. 27, 2018. Other bouts on the card include:
