An enthralling matchup between Ultimate Fighter veterans has been added to the Motor City pay per view in December.
Angela Magana vs. Amanda Bobby Cooper was most recently added to the card, sources say. Both women will meet in a critical Strawweight bout hoping to cut the memory of their latest losses loose.
Magana (11-8, 0-2 in UFC) will be looking to capture her first victory inside the Octagon since signing with the promotion after her time on season 20 of the Ultimate Fighter back in 2014. Magana most recently made headlines after getting involved in a physical confrontation with now current UFC women’s Featherweight champion Cris Cyborg earlier this year. The Brazilian champion was upset over various social media posts made by Magana, in particular a tweet posted by Magana that made fun of Cyborg’s looks while she was visiting cancer patients at a hospital in Brazil.
Cooper (2-3, 1-2 in UFC) will be looking to bounce back after a tough loss to Team Alpha Male prospect Cynthia Calvillo back at UFC 209 in March. Cooper was the runner-up on season 23 of the Ultimate Fighter. Cooper would defeat both Jaimie Moyle by judges decision and Lanchana Green by armbar submission on the show en route to a finale showdown with Tatiana Suarez. Cooper would lose the bout via submission in the first round.
UFC 218 will take place at the Little Caesars arena in Detroit, Michigan on December 2 live on pay per view. No main event has been made for the card with the only official bout set thus far is Felice Herrig vs. Courtney Casey.
