Moss Excited About Underground Showdown, Open to Promoting More MMA

Hard-hitting boxing action returns to Hotlanta this Saturday, July 1st, as promoter Terri Moss and Big Boss Enterprise bring the Underground Showdown to town at Buckhead Fight Club in Atlanta, GA.

The card, which features a headlining fight between Joe Creer and Tobias Rice, is comprised of both amateur and professional boxing bouts – a first for Terri and her crew as they look to help put the Atlanta boxing community on the map.

Moss, a former WIBF strawweight champion and WIBA mini-flyweight champion, may be best known outside of the boxing ring as one of the first promoters to feature “white collar” fight cards. Her Corporate Fight Night series has quickly gained a following in ATL, particularly since the decision was made last year to include MMA bouts on the card.

“We had over a thousand people there. Two days before the event we had sold 997 tickets, and that’s not even at the door. So, it was a good show,” said Terri on the success of the aforementioned Corporate Fight Night show.

Though she has limited experience in the MMA space, she’s open to promoting more cards featuring MMA competition.

“I’ve already got people calling me from other states to do kickboxing and MMA fights. They’re ready to come. I wasn’t sure that I was going to do that again, but it looks like there’s a market for it, and I would love to provide that opportunity. So, I might run a separate Corporate Fight Night with just MMA fights on it,” said Moss.

Before she expands her business into other facets of combat sports, however, she will be focusing on Underground Showdown this Saturday night. As it turns out, one of the men in the main event, Joe Creer, has a winning record in MMA.

“He has an undefeated record. In MMA, he’s 4-0. In boxing, he’s 3-0. So, he’s a quality fighter,” said Moss on Creer.

She’s not wrong – though Creer is no spring chicken at 35 years of age, he has competed at both middleweight and light heavyweight in MMA. Out of his four wins, three have come via unanimous decision and one via rear naked choke, according to As Terri mentioned, his boxing record is also spotless, with one of his three wins coming via knockout. After this weekend’s fights, he will set his sights on signing with Bellator.

“He wants to be signed by Bellator. I think he was supposed to be on one of the last Bellator cards, but his fight got cancelled. He loves boxing, but it’s his secondary. He’ll admit that,” said Moss.

Creer is taking on a true boxing veteran in Tobias Rice, a 35-year-old boxer with 19 more fights on his record than his opponent, according to On paper, Rice has the advantage in experience, though his record is far from perfect at 5-17-1. It makes for an interesting fight, as Creer will have to be on his game to maintain his undefeated record and overcome the wily veteran in Rice.

In addition to the main event, this weekend’s Underground Showdown card will have four professional fights on the main card, including a co-main event that will pit two knockout artists against one another.

“In the co-main event we’ve got Eric Moon who is 4-0 with four knockouts, and he’s fighting Simeon Hardy, who is 13-1 with 10 knockouts, and he’s coming in from New York. So, we’re really excited about that one,” said Moss.

Fight fans in Atlanta can still pick up tickets to this Saturday’s Underground Showdown at Doors open at 6PM, with the first bell sounding at 7PM.
