UFC FN 105 will take place on Sunday Feb. 19, 2017 at the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. The main event involves two gigantic heavyweights in Travis Browne and Derrick Lewis, however, the co-main event features a class of two fighters who may have just more knockout power as the big guys as former UFC Welterweight champion, Johny Hendricks (17-6) 11-6 in UFC will come face to face inside the octagon with Hector Lombard (34-6-1-(2) 3-4 in in UFC in what should be fireworks from the beginning.
When Hendricks made his UFC debut back in 2009 we all witnessed a wrestler with some extraordinary punching power, even if some people thought it was a nearly stoppage. Fast forward almost eight years later and we have seen “Big Rigg” capture the Welterweight title and along the way has left fighters still with a simple left hand as shown by wins over Tj, Waldburger Jon Fitch and Martin Kampman. Now making his Middleweight debut he is one and four in his last five fights however and it seems his back is against the wall. If he can execute that type of knockout power we have seen earlier in his career and combine it with his elite wrestling on any given night he is a major obstacle to overcome. He will need a dominate victory to show the rest of the Middleweight division that the former 170 champ is here.
His opponent might just have more power as “Big Rigg” does, when Lombard made his UFC debut in 2012 it was a disappointing loss to Tim Boetsch, after that fight however we have witnessed in his victories over Rousimar Palhares and Nate Marquardt that if he lands almost anything on your chin you will go to sleep. If “Lightning” wants to establish himself as a true Middleweight contender then he will need to put on a decisive performance against the former champion.
Which 185 pound fighter will be victorious and move a step closer to the Middleweight Crown? Find out at UFC Fight Night 105 Sunday Feb. 19, 2017
