Shamrock Fighting Championships closes down the year with two cards this upcoming weekend. Kicking things off is the explosive 279 card that takes place at the River City Casino and Resort in St. Louis, Mo. The main event is a fight in the welterweight division between Steven Mann (12-4) and Matt Veach (16-5). The co main is heated battle in the bantamweight division between Erion Zekthi (1-0) and Demetrius Wilson(3-1).The feature bout is featherweight scrap showcasing the return of AJ Siscoe as he goes against Chris Reed. It all goes down on Friday Night on December 2nd.
In main event Steven Mann looks to win three straight in his fight with Matt Veach who has gone 1-1 in his last two fights. Veach’s last schedule fight was supposed to be a banger with Luis Palomino and he will be ready for a similar war with Mann. Both fighters have finishing ability standing or on the ground so who ever takes advantage early could make this a short night.
From trash talking on social media to very heated interviews possibly the co main of Shamrock FC 279 is one of the most expected of the year. Both Erion Zekthi and Demetrius Wilson are two of the top young bantamweights in the region. Each fighter is impressive in the grappling department so footwork and timing will play a huge part in this affair. The cardio of Erion will match up against the explosiveness of Wilson in a fight that is too hard to call. This one should be great.
The feature bout is a fight in the lightweight division by the very well rounded and constantly improving Luis Pena (1-0) squaring off against Brandon Schele (0-0). Schele makes his long awaited pro debut. We last saw him with a great first round TKO against another up and coming prospect and he will be tested often by Pena. Luis is one of the busiest fighters in the region as this will be his fourth fight in 2016. This should be a great match up by two fighters headed in the right direction early in their careers.
AJ Siscoe (0-2) makes his return to the cage looking to earn a W against Chris Reed (2-3). Reed is on a two fight win streak after submitting his last two opponents. That does not bode well for AJ who has lost both of his last two fights in the same manner. Still AJ has always been game and hopefully shows no cage rust after his long delay from fighting.
Susie “Mama Beast” Wyatt(0-1) hits the flyweight division to take on former bantamweight amateur champion Francis Hernandez. For Hernandez’s first pro fight she will look to dominate on top of Wyatt which could play into the submission specialist wheelhouse. This is one of those don’t blink fights in the women’s ranks as each athlete is capable of finishing due to their respective strengths.
The first fight on the main card of Shamrock FC 279 is a catchweight fight of 160 pounds between Andrew Ebbers (0-0) and Dan Busch (1-0). Andrew was set to make his pro debut for RFA over the summer. Busch is riding three straight wins stemming from his amateur career and hopes two win his second in the pro ranks. This should be another exciting three round scrap that could potentially go the distance.
