The month of September is going to be a busy one for the state of Missouri and it just picked up another notch with the announcing of two title fights. Last night the number one all women’s fighting promotion in the world INVICTA FC released details on their 19th event which co headlines title fights in both the atomweight and flyweight division. Current interim champion Jennifer Maia will defend her title against Roxanne Modafferi while Ayaka Hamasaki is looking to retain her 105 belt against Jinh Yu Frey. This is a quick turnaround from July’s explosive event and hopefully will initiate one more card before the years end. All the details on the first match ups announced are ahead in the press release with more bouts on the way.

Coming off a successful July show, Invicta Fighting Championships today announced its return to Scottish Rite Temple – the nationally recognized historic landmark – in Kansas City, Mo. on Friday, Sept. 23.

Invicta FC 19, streaming live and exclusively on UFC Fight Pass, is headlined by two title bouts. Atop the card, newly crowned interim flyweight champion Jennifer Maia (13-4-1) puts her belt on the line against challenger Roxanne “The Happy Warrior” Modafferi(19-12).

Brazil’s Maia captured gold at Invicta FC 16 in March, defeating fellow countrywoman Vanessa Porto by unanimous decision in a “Fight of the Year” contender. Modafferi, a veteran of UFC and Strikeforce, has won four of her last five fights including victories over divisional contenders DeAnna Bennett and Andrea Lee.

In the co-main event, Japanese star Ayaka Hamaski (13-1) defends her atomweight championship against surging Jinh Yu Frey (5-1). Hamasaki has won her last four bouts, the most recent coming by way of submission via third-round armbar against Amber Brown at Invicta FC 16. Yu Frey also enters the contest having won four straight, including a unanimous decision win over former atomweight champion Herica Tiburcio in March.
